SOMERSET LIONS ECHO

HURST TO CROSS THE WORLE DIVIDE!!!

The Somerset Lions Echo can tonight reveal that Chris Hurst of Weston Super Villa FC has been in secret talks with his clubs local rivals Bad Manors FC.

Our sources close to both clubs can reveal that Hurst has held scret talks with team manager Stephen Corke and club captain Pete Faulkner with regards to the multi million pence switch.

News of the tranfers will come as a major blow to Super Villa's team members and fans and will send shivers across the local divide. It is thought that the temptation of challenging for major honours on a regular basis is too much for Hurst, nicknamed 'Beachcomber' to turn down.

On hearing the news, Super Villa's fans will prepare a march before their teams kick off this evening at 9:30pm to try and pursuade him to stay. No-one at Super Villa was available to comment on the deal but sources very close to Bad Manors say a tranfer could be iminent, with an all round midfielder high on the agenda before the january tranfers window closes.

If however any deal does go through, it is sure to strengthen Bad Manors push for the title this season.

Chris should bear these wise words in mind ...............

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

SOMERSET LIONS ECHO

MANAGER - WE WANT HURST!!
[/size]

Last night the Somerset Echo broke the news of the possible transfer of Chris Hurst from Weston Super Villa to local rivals Bad Manors. Today we can reveal in an interview with Bad Manors manager Stephen Corke, that Hurst could be on the brink of a move across the local divide. He said "As the manager of the bad manors football club i dont want to seem like im tapping up other teams players!!!! But as an insentive i will be offering Chris a signing on fee of 1 pint of beer!!!! I hope to offer him the chance of bettering his skills through playing with far more better players also im offering him the chance to be the best he can be and win silverware!!!"

Corkes comments are sure to enrage Super Villa who dont want to cash in on their star asset. Again no-one was available for comment from Super Villa, but Bad Manors club captain Pete Faulkner was in a more talkative mood, "Having Chris playing at Bad Manors would probably be the final piece in our jigsaw. Even though he could be judged on the huge price tag and massive signing on fee of one pint of beer, im sure he will be able to get his head down and perform to the standard we come to expect from our players and it will be money well spent. Lets just hope the manager can get the player in and we can move forward"

It seems almost certain that the tranfers will go through, whether its sooner rather than later is another matter. Clearly Bad Manors have along way to go to make this tranfer a possibility and the reluctance of Super Villa could halt their title ambitions.

Our sources tell that Hurst would be very keen to join Corkes outfit, but will his loyalty to his present club end up being the deciding factor??

In a press conference earlier today a representitive of Christopher Hurst said that the player is very flattered by comments made by Stephen Corke, manager of Bad Manors, and by their talisman Pete Faulkner. However the spokesman expressed that the hard working middleman would find it hard to leave his present club though repeatedly refused to say the deal could not go through. Hurst is believed to be frustrated by the down turn in Super-Villas form and is dissapointed at the start the team has made. ''After the 4-1 defeat recently my player was very despondant. After finishing third last season it was thought the club would push on but they have made a very bad start indeed. My client is aware of the interest. He will sit down with the manager of super-villa later this week to discuss the future.'' It is thought that he will stay and fight to help Villa recapture the form showed at the end of last season but the opportunity to provide Corke with good service and form a strong midfield unit with Faulkner could sway him.
When asked why Hurst missed the recent Super-Villa against Bad Manors match a spokesman assured the press that it was for legitimate reasons and that Hurst was very disapointed not only with the result, a 2-1 loss, but at missing such an important game.

SOMERSET LIONS ECHO

Tranfer Saga Turning Nasty

The tranfer saga of Chris Hurst to Bad Manors FC took yet another twist last night when during a press conference the player admitted a deal was possible but stressed that his commitment to Super Villa was still as strong as ever!

In a new turn of events, an agent, believed to be working on behalf of Weston Super Villa threatend Hurst, who's birthday it is tomorrow, with Kangeroo Court proceedings if the transfer was to take place. The agent is believed to be the notorious 'Brummie Bob' based at outpost Shepton Mallet who is understood to be working on a deal to keep Hurst at the club. 'Bob' is known around the footballing world for his controversial business methods and underhand tactics and have found a loophole in the Kangeroo legal system that would see a fine being passed if the tranfers was to happen. What this has to do however with Bob is anyones guess, and when our reporter caught up with Bad Manors club captain Pete Faulkner, he was also less than impressed with the comments, he said "I really dont understand why this bloke feels the need to get involved, personally i think he needs to shut the hell up, all he is interested in, is the personal gain of Cadburys cream eggs, he doesnt care one bit about the player in question, he just wants a delicious snack with his morning coffee at Michael Woods"

This was never going to be an easy transfer for all involved, but its looking more and more likely that it could get even nastier in the coming weeks.

In a statement issued at lunchtime today (Wednesday) the Public Relations Officer for Weston Super Villa "Brummie Bob" Moore

"assured supporters and officials alike that no approach had been officially made to anyone at the Club and the Chris Hurst transfer saga would be reported to the various authorities in the hope that strong action would be taken against the people from Bad Manors who have blatantly broken league rules"

He added:

" This sort of thing does no one any favours and the threats of fines reported to have been threatened by us here are totally false and may be subject to legal action in the future"

"whatever decision Chris makes about his future is one for him alone and unwarranted and malicious pressure from insiders is against the spirit of the game"

SOMERSET LIONS ECHO

Bad Manors Get Their Man!!!

The Somerset Lions Echo can reveal this morning that the long running transfer saga of Chris Hurst to Bad Manors has been completed in quite bizare circumstances. It is known that the player last night sent a text message to his current manager 'Damo' pleading for his dream move and that a deal between the two clubs has now been struck. The brief text message was a last attempt at getting the move he's been craving for after talks between the two clubs had broken down late last week.

It is believed that Hurst meet with Bad Manors officials, including manager Stephen Corke, Club Captain Pete Faulkner and Goal Keeper Adam 'Sid' Williams late last night with a view to pushing the deal through! The transfer that will set a new club record of 2 pints of beer for Hurst, will surely go down well in the Bad Manors camp but tensions off the field between the two clubs are sure to hit new lows. Supporters have already vented their anger and frustration at the possible transfer and after running a poll last week, we can reveal that half the people asked thought he should stay at Super Villa. This however is in the past and Hurst should make his debut on Monday 9th Feb against what should be a crutial game for Bad Manors against The Pub Team.

Hurst who produced a man of the match performance in Mondays 4v2 defeat of The Pub Team, will play one final game for Super Villa before making the long awaited switch across the local divide. It is thought that Super Villa only agreed to the transfer if he played next monday giving manager 'Damo' a chance to replace his highly rated midfield general.

In another twist, our sources close to the deal reveal that in the last few minutes of the deal being made, Hursts agent and father, Glyn 'El Tonto' Hurst demanded a signing on fee for himself if his son was to cross the local divde. A deal was quickly struck however, with the sum of 1 pint of beer being agreed in principal but we're not sure when the payment will be made. This surely does put into question the use of agents in the modern game, with some people arguing that there is no need as their only in it for personal gain. With Hurst juniors career in the balance, it is hard to understand why his father and agent would try and scupper the deal if he himself was getting nothing out of it. As we revealed a few weeks ago, the notorious 'Brummie' Bob Moore was trying to get himself a piece of the action but has recently backed away from the deal in fear of Hurst seniors power and influence he has in the local area.

As the long awaited 'signing' of the januray transfer window comes to an end it will be interesting to see how Corke fits Hurst into a team that hasnt started particually well. This however is sure to give them a much needed boost and hopefully will shoot them back up the table where they belong.

SOMERSET LIONS ECHO

Divisions In The Camp

Ahead of a possible debut for Chris Hurst on monday evening, the Somerset Lions Echo can reveal that Hursts arrival into the Bad Manors camp may have already caused a few ruptions. Our insiders have informed us that on a recent 'social' trip to the North East, a party including such faces as Hurst, Faulkner, Corke and goal keeper Adam 'Sid' Williams to name but a few had a slight disagrement and it is understood that some party members had to be seperated. It is thought that the arguement came down to a comment made by Hurst towards, now team mate Sid in which he suggested that Williams "Should of been aborted". We can only assume that Hurst was trying to suggest that 'Sid's ' mother should of had an abortion before birth and that he has no place on this earth. We can reveal that some members of the Bad Manors squad ARE in agreement with the comments but even though Hursts valid points have shared opinions some are suggesting he perhaps should of stayed silent.

Whether or not this will be a problem for manager Stephen Corke is yet to be seen and with Sid out on monday having over stressed his wrist in a private matter, only time will tell on whether the team is big enough for the both of them!
